Archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Abhishek Verma won the compound mixed team gold medal at the World Cup Stage 3 in Paris on Saturday.
Jyothi also clinched a silver in the individual event after a heartbreaking loss in the final to Great Britain's Ella Gibson in the shoot-off.
In the compound mixed team final, the Indian duo beat France 152-149.
Jyothi and Abhishek started the summit clash with a perfect first end to lead 40-37. However, the French pair of Sophie Dodemont and Jean Philippe Boulch cut the gap to one point after the second end. The third end was a tie.
Going into the final end, the scores read 115-114 in favour of the Indians. The French duo started off with two 9s and in reply, Abhishek shot an inner 10 while Jyothi scored a 9 to increase the lead to two. Dodemont's and Boulch's next shots - 9 and 8 respectively - meant the Indian pair needed a total of 16 from its two shots to seal the victory.
Both Indian archers hit 9s to win country's first medal at the ongoing event.
Making a comeback after more than seven months, world number three Jyothi, who was sidelined in the Asian Games trial, fell just short of a gold in the individual event.
Jyothi reached the final after beating Dodemont 147-145 in the final four match.
In the final, both Jyothi and Gibson could not be separated until Jyothi hit a 9 on the second shot of the third end. The two archers then shot 29 each during the fourth end.
Gibson had a one-point lead going into the final end but a 9 on the very first shot allowed Jyothi to come back into the match and she ensured that she did.
Tied at 148-148, the final was to be decided by a shoot-off in which Gibson shot an inner 10 while Jyothi's arrow landed on the boundary of the outer 10 circle.
