► DAY 4: Rahi Sarnobat won India's fourth gold medal in the women's 25m air pistol event. The Indian Wushu team won four bronze medals on the day. India finished 7th in the women's Artistic gymnastics finals. Ankita Raina and the pair of Divij Sharan and Rohan Bopanna assured two medals for India in Tennis. Here's the full list of Indians in action on Wednesday .
- Shooting: Rahi Sarnobat wins gold for India in the women's 25m air pistol event.
- Wushu: Four Bronze medals for India in Wushu, after Narender Garewal, Santosh Kumar, Surya Bhanu Pratap and Naorem Roshibina Devi lost their respective semifinal rounds.
- Tennis: Ankita Raina assures India of at least one medal in tennis by progressing to the semifinal of the women's singles.
- Tennis: Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan also assures a medal for India after advancing to the semifinals of the men's doubles.
- Swimming: Sajan Prakash, Sandeep Sejwal fail to make the cut for the finals in 100m butterfly and 100m breaststroke respectively. India came last in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay final.
- Artistic Gymnastics: India finished seventh in the women's Artistic Gymnastics final.

6:37pm: WUSHU: Another bronze for India, as Narender Garewal goes down 0-2 in the men's Sanda 65kg semifinal. So that's four bronze medals for India in Wushu.
6:31pm: WUSHU: Narender Garewal on the mat against Iran's Faroud Zafari in the men's 65kg semifinal.
6:30pm: VOLLEYBALL: India goes down two sets to Qatar in the men's Pool F match. 15-25, 20-25.
6:22pm: WUSHU: Bhanu Pratap limps out after losing 0-1 to Iran's Efran Ahagarian. That's another bronze in Wushu for India.
6:20pm: WUSHU: Surya Bhanu Pratap is in action in the Men's Sanda 60kg semifinal. Can he bring home more than a bronze?
6:17pm: WUSHU: Santosh Kumar loses 2-0 in the Wushu Men's Sanda 56kg semifinal, but wins the bronze medal in the event. Two more Indian fighters coming up in semifinals of their respective weught categories. Roshibina Devi lost her semifinal bout 0-1, taking the bronze.
6:17pm: TENNIS: Rohan Bopanna and Ankita Raina secure a place in the mixed doubles quarterfinals after winning their round-of-16 match 6-4 6-4.
6:16pm: WRESTLING: Harpreet Singh lost 6-3 against Kazakhstan's Azamat Kustubayev in the Men's Greco-Roman 87kg Bronze medal playoff. So no medal for India in wrestling today.
6:13: WUSHU: In the Wushu Men's Sanda 56kg semifinal, Santosh Kumar takes on Vietnam's Truong Bui.
6:11pm: VOLLEYBALL: India is in action against Qatar in the men's Pool F match. India lost the first set 15-25 and trails the second 12-15.
6:09pm: SWIMMING: India started eighth, finished eighth. Japan finishes in the gold medal position with a Asian Games record time of 3:12:68.
6:08pm: SWIMMING: India finds itself in the last position at the end of 300m. Just 100 to go and Japan's in the lead followed closely by China.
6:00pm: SWIMMING: India lines up on lane 8 for the 4x100m Freestyle relay finals. Among the finalists, India has the slowest qualification time. Anshul Kothari, Vikram Khade, Sajan Prakash and Aaron D'Souza.
5:25pm: TENNIS: Rohan Bopanna and Ankita Raina's mixed doubles roun-of-16 match is underway. They won the first set 6-4.
5:18pm: Sumit Nagal and Ramkumar Ramanathan go down in a tiebreaker to the Uzbeks in the men's doubles quarterfinals.
3:25pm: TENNIS UPDATES: India has had a mixed day in Tennis, with two medals being assured so far.
The men's doubles pair of Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan secured a place in the semifinals, beating Chinese Taipei's Hsieh and Yang. After claiming a set each at 6-3 5-7, the Indians clinched the tiebreaker to take the match. Ankita Raina also assured a medal for herself when she progressed to the semifinals after beating Hong Kong's Eudice Wong Chong 6-4 6-1. Prajnesh Gunneswaran advanced to the quarterfinals of the Men's singles.
Ramkumar Ramanathan let down hopes of a medal as he was knocked out in the round-of-16, losing to Uzbekistan's Jubarek Karimov. Ankita Raina and Prarthana Thombare also lost their round-of-16 match in the women's doubles.
Coming up are Sumit Nagal and Ramkumar Ramanathan's men's doubles quarterfinal and Rohan Bopanna and Ankita Raina's mixed doubles round-of-16 match.

2:22pm: SHOOTING: Women's 25m pistol final: Rahi Sarnobat in a shoot-off for gold. The shoot-off ends in a tie after Rahi gets two and her opponent misses all her shots.
That's India's biggest win ever and an 86-year-old record broken! India had defeated USA 24-1 in the 1932 Summer Olympics.
2:19 pm HOCKEY: FULL TIME! India finishes 26-0, a dominating performance over Hong Kong.
2:12pm: SHOOTING: Women's 25m pistol final: Manu Bhaker, who topped the qualification with an Asian Games record, gets eliminated. She finishes sixth in the final . India's Rahi Sarnobat continues to stay on top.
2:11pm: SHOOTING: Women's 25m pistol final: Rahi Sarnobat stays in the lead with 20/25. Manu Bhaker has another poor series, gets only two on target for total of 14/25.
2:08pm: SHOOTING: Women's 25m pistol final: After 20 shots, Rahi Sarnobat leads with 16 on target. Manu Bhaker is currently in the fifth spot with 12 shots on target.
2:07 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! The Indians add a couple more courtesy Harmanpreet and Simranjeet Singh .
2:04pm: SHOOTING: Women's 25m pistol final: Rahi Sarnobat leads the charts after the first series of shots. She gets 5/5 while qualification topper Manu Bhaker shows signs of nerves, missing two of her first five shots.
2:02 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! It's 21 for India in no time. Harmanpreet scores from a penalty corner.
2:00 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! It's number 20 for India. Chinglensana Singh Kangujam easily converts a penalty stroke.
1:53 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! Another goal early into the quarter as Dilpreet Singh taps one in to make it 19 for India.
1:49 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! That's the end of the first quarter. Hong Kong has been better than it was in the first-half, but India still leads 18-0. Rupinder scores the final goal of the quarter; a beautiful drag-flick from a penalty corner.
1.37pm: WRESTLING: Harpreet Singh loses to Uzbekistan’s Rustam Assakalov in the semifinals of 87kg Greco-Roman.
1:37 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! The Indians are dominating Hong Kong's circle . Akashdeep taps another one in to make it 17-0.
1:31 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! The 16th goal for India comes from a series of penalty corners, as Lalit taps in Rupinder's drag-flick.
1:30pm: WRESTLING: Harpreet Singh loses in the semifinals of the 87kg Greco-Roman wrestling
1:25 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! The Indians continue from where they left in the first half. Akashdeep unleashes a powerful shot from inside the circle into the goal.
1:24 pm HOCKEY: Second half is underway.
1:10 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! From a penalty corner, Varun Kumar scores the 14th goal for India and his fifth goal of the match. The Indians have been ruthless in the first-half so far. India leads 14-0.
1:10 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! India converts its fourth penalty corner as Harmanpreet Singh scores to lead 13-0.
1:09pm: WRESTLING: Gurpreet Singh loses 8-6 to Iran's Mohammadali Gerai in the men's Greco-Roman 77kg quarterfinals.
1:07 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! Amit Rohidas makes it 12, as he successfully converts the penalty corner. This is India's third goal via the penalty corner.
1:01 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! Mandeep takes the tally to 11 as he taps in another beautiful pass inside the Hong Kong box.
12:58 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! It's getting comical here. Mandeep has just scored India's 10th goal. Phew!
12:56 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! And there is the number nine, as Lalith just plays with the poor Hong Kong defence to tap in another one home.
12:53 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! No difference in the second quarter as the Indians continue scoring with the same intensity, the seventh goal coming via Lalit Upadhyay in the 16th minute. Before you could catch hold of your breath, Manpreet Singh scores India's eighth. India leads 8-0.
12:49 pm HOCKEY: The first quarter comes to an end, India leads 6-0 .
12:47 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! It's raining goals here. Vivek Sagar Prasad skilfully lodges the ball home, courtesy some good passing game and a mediocre Hong Kong defence.
12:45pm: ARCHERY: Jyothi Surekha Vennam finishes second in the ranking round of compound women's individual event. Muskan Kirar is the other Indian in the Top 10 at No. 9. Madhumita Kumari and Trisha Deb, the other Indians in the fray, finish 11th and 19th respectively. With two Indians finishing in the Top 10, India has managed to rank second in the compound team event.
12:39 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! The fifth goal, meanwhile, was scored in the seventh minute of the game, in an another easy breach of defence by S.V. Sunil . Hong Kong is in serious trouble here.
12:39 pm HOCKEY: The Indians continue to fiddle with the ball in the Hong Kong's half, while the ball has hardly gone into the half of the Indians so far.
12:37 pm HOCKEY: GOAL! Rupinder Pal Singh scores twice from the penalty corner to take India's tally to 4.
12:33 pm H OCKEY: GOAL! And the second goal too comes in a matter of just two minutes, as the experienced Mandeep Singh fires another one through the sloppy Hong Kong defence.
12:31 pm H OCKEY : GOAL! India starts the attack and the opening goal is already here, Akashdeep Singh fires it home from just outside the box.
12:30pm: TENNIS: Ramkumar Ramanathan exits in the Last-16 stage. The Indian loses to Uzbekistan's Jurabek Karimov 6-3, 4-6, 3-6.
12:10pm WRESTLING: Naveen loses to China's Meng Lingzhe 4-1 in the men's 130kg Greco-Roman category pre-quarterfinals.
12:05pm: WRESTLING: Gurpreet Singh has made it to the last eight with an emphatic 9-0 win over Thailand's Apichai Natal in the men's 77kg Greco-Roman category. He takes just two minutes to complete the win.
11:50am: WRESTLING: Harpreet Singh progresses to the quarterfinals with a 4-1 win over Korea's Heageun in the men's 87kg Greco-Roman category
11:00am: TAEKWONDO: Men's 80kg category: Navjeet Maan loses to China's Linglong Chen 6-20 in a Round-of-16 match.
10:40am: ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS: Dipa Karmakar has pulled out of team final in artistic gymnastics to prevent further damage to her knee. However, she will be competing in the balance beam finals later in the day. On Tuesday, Dipa Karmakar failed to qualify for the vault final because of a flare-up on her troublesome knee. 10:15am: SHOOTING: Anjum Moudgil and Gaayathri Nithyanandam fail to make it to the final of women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event. Moudgil, in fact, was in the Top 2 at the end of kneeling and prone positions. Her lacklustre show in the standing position cost her a place in the final by one point. She totalled 1159 of the possible 1200 points to finish ninth. Gaayathri finishes in the 17th position.
MEDAL CONFIRMED FOR ANKITA RAINA
10:00am: TENNIS: Ankita Raina progresses to the semifinals with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Hong Kong's Eudice Wong Chong and assures India of at least a bronze in tennis. After a rather sluggish start ( she was down 1-4), the Indian pulled ahead and dominated her opponent to make it to the semifinals. Sania Mirza is the only other Indian to win medals in women's singles (silver in 2006, bronze in 2010).
ASIAN GAMES RECORD FOR MANU BHAKER 9:45am: SHOOTING: Manu Bhaker tops the qualification and makes it to the final with an Asian Games qualification record of 593/600 in the women's 25m pistol precision and rapid event. Rahi Sarnobat finishes seventh with a score of 580 and also qualifies for the final. |
9:30am: TENNIS: After being down 0-3, Ankita Raina shows determination to break Hong Kong's Wong Chong thrice to take the first set 6-4 in the women's singles quarterfinal.
9:25am: SWIMMING: 4 X100m freestyle relay: India qualifies for the final by finishing eighth. India had topped Heat 1 with a time of 3:25.17. Aaron D'Souza , Anshul Kothari, Sajan Prakash and Virdhawal Khade do just enough to make the cut.
9:20am: WUSHU: Gyandash Singh misses a bronze by .01 point, finishes fourth in Men's Taijijian event. That was a creditable show yet again in a sport where India has surprisingly already assured itself of at least four medals.
9.02 am: ROWING: Rohit Kumar and Bhagwan Singh qualify for the main A-final by topping the Heat 1 of the Men's Lightweight Double Sculls Repechages with a timing of 7:14.23.
8:45am: TENNIS: Not an ideal start for Ankita Raina who begins her quest for a place in the semifinals with the battle against Hong Kong's Eudice Wong Chong. She has been broken in her very first service game.
8:40am: SWIMMING: Sandeep Sejwal is placed 10th in the qualification list with a timing 1:02.07 and misses direct qualification for the final.
8:30am: SWIMMING: Sandeep Sejwal in action in the 100m breastroke heats.
8:12am: SHOOTING: Manu Bhaker is looking good for a medal. She tops the qualification with a brilliant score of 297/300 in the precision stage of women's 25m pistol. Rahi Sarnobat is seventh on the list. We will have to wait for their scores in the rapid stage (9:30 IST) to know the status of their qualification.
8:00am: SHOOTING: The qualification round for women's 50m rifle 3 positions ( Anjum Moudgil and Gaayathri Nithyanandam) and women's 25m pistol (Manu Bhaker Rahi Sarnobat) are currently underway.
7:50am: SWIMMING: Not a great start for India in swimming. Sajan Prakash fails to qualify for the final as his timings is only the 12th fastest overall. Olympic champion tops the qualification clocking 53.31s, a good 1.75seconds better than the Indian. Avinash Mani is lower in the ladder at 26th spot.
7:40am: SWIMMING: Sajan Prakash and Avinash Mani finish on top in their respective heats in the 100m butterfly category. As far as timings are concerned, Sajan (54.06s) was quicker by almost three seconds compared to Mani (56.98s). The latter had just three on his lane and one didn't start. So in all likeliness, Mani may not make the cut. We will have to wait till the end of all the five heats to find out where Sajan stands in the qualification list, and if he makes the cut.
7:30am: SWIMMING: Avinash Mani and Sajan Prakash are currently in action in the 100m Butterfly Heats.
