Judo made its Asian Games debut in 1986, but India has not gone beyond bronze in the sport.

In fact, the country has won five bronze medals in judo at the Asian Games, four of them coming in 1986 itself in Seoul.

Fifteen gold medals are up for grabs this year – seven each for the men and women and one in the mixed team event – but India’s prospects of winning any are rather slim.
