Lokesh produces personal best, qualifies for under-20 Worlds

S. Lokesh won the boys long jump gold and qualified for this year’s under-20 World championships.

S. Lokesh qualified for this year’s under-20 Worlds with a personal best 7.74m while winning the boys long jump gold at the South Asian junior athletics championships which began in Colombo on Saturday.

The 19-year-old Bengaluru youngster, who trains under Romanian coach Bedros Bedrosian in Thiruvananthapuram, was more than 30cms better than his previous best which came in Guntur late last year.

India had a rich haul and was on top of the medals table after the opening day’s events.
