The Indian boys medley relay team, comprising of Gurindervir Singh, Palender Kumar, Manish and Akshay Nain, won the gold medal as the team finished third in the medals table in the second Asian Youth Athletics Championship in Bangkok on Tuesday. The team clocked 1:55.62s to clinch the gold medal. Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong took the silver and bronze medals respectively. India also won two other medals - a silver and bronze in the boys’ javelin throw - through Uttar Pradesh’s Rohit Yadav (74.30m) and Avinash Yadav (70.09) on the final day.

India finished third in the medals table with a final tally of five golds, five silvers and four bronzes for a total of 14 medals in the four-day meet. China led the table (16 golds, 30 medals), while Chinese Taipei (6 golds, 15 medals) finished second.
