TNBL: Falcon Feathers trumps Jhaver Smashers

Falcon Feathers beat Jhaver Smashers 3-2 in the group-2 tie - the first tie of the day - on day one of the Tamil Nadu Badminton League.

Falcon Feathers beat Jhaver Smashers 3-2 in the group-2 tie - the first tie of the day - on day one of the Tamil Nadu Badminton League at the Ampa Skywalk mall here on Thursday.

Jade Force posted an emphatic 4-1 win over Chennai Shuttle Kings in group-1, the second tie of the day.

Falcon Feathers started with a loss in the first match of the tie. Ruban Kumar & Siddhanth Gupta lost 8-14, 9-15 to K. Murugappa & P.V. Srayas, the No. 1 ranked pair in the u-17 boys doubles State rankings.

But N. Pranavi posted an easy 15-8, 15-9 win over N. Dhanyaa in the women's singles for the Falcon Knights to draw level 1-1.

Jhaver Smashers took the lead again as Lokesh Vishwanathan beat Vishal Vasudevan 15-9, 15-12 in the men's singles, following which S. Abdul Fashith & D. Arun Brun won the men's doubles match for Falcon Feathers.

The winner of the tie was then decided in the last match as Vembarasan & S. Akshaya lost the first game, stretched it to the last, and held on, to win 9-15, 15-12, 15-13 versus S. Varshath and R. Thanushree in the mixed doubles.
