Mo Bamba is expected to miss "significant" time as he deals with a stress fracture in his left leg, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday.

He is not expected to need surgery, the Magic announced.

The 7-foot rookie center did not play in the team's victory against Brooklyn on Saturday. Chosen sixth overall by the Magic out of Texas in the 2018 draft, Bamba is averaging 6.2 points, five rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 16.3 minutes per game.

“Thankfully we caught this early and are able to treat Mo without surgery,” the Magic said in a statement. “His return to action will depend on how he responds to treatment.”
