Zoran Visic to coach Indian men's basketball team

Serbian Zoran Visic will coach the Indian senior men’s basketball team for the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers later this month, the Basketball Federation of India has announced on its website.

Serbian Zoran Visic will coach the Indian senior men’s basketball team for the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers later this month, the Basketball Federation of India has announced on its website. Visic, who led India’s senior and U-16 women’s teams to Asia’s top division in the FIBA Women’s championships, has already taken charge, with a preparatory camp in progress at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here.

The camp commenced on November 1 with 33 probables, with that number now whittled down to 19. Visic is being assisted by coaches Paramdeep Singh, Shambhaji Kadam and Laldingsana Hangsing. India will begin its qualifying campaign against Lebanon in Beirut on November 23, before meeting Syria in Bengaluru on November 26.

The probables: Amjyot Singh Gill, Amritpal Singh, Aravind Annadurai, Yadwinder Singh, Satnam Singh Bhamara, Arshpreet Singh Bhullar, B.K. Anil Kumar, Arvind Arumugam, Gurvinder Singh Gill, Muin Bek Hafeez, Akilan Pari, S. Prasanna Venkatesh, Rikin Pethani, P. Baladhaneshwar, Ambathi P. Reddy, Palpreet Singh Brar, Vishal Kumar Gupta, Jagdeep Singh Bains, and Arjun Singh.
