Chessable Masters: Harikrishna, Dubov exit; Giri takes sole lead in Group B

P. Harikrishna exited from the $150,000 Chessable Masters with a final-round defeat to Alexander Grischuk on Monday.
In Group ‘B’, on Tuesday, overnight joint leader Anish Giri jumped into sole lead after Ding Liren lost to him on time following the loss of internet connection while Maxime Vachier-Lagrave surrendered to Ian Nepomniachtchi in the seventh round.
A draw with Teimour Radjabov in the eighth round virtually assured Giri a place in the quarterfinals. Fabiano Caruana punished Lagrave and pushed the overnight joint leader to the last spot. Liren jumped
to the joint second spot after overpowering Ian Nepomniachtchi. The remaining three quarterfinal spots will be decided in the next two rounds.

Harikrishna scored three points from 10 round-robin rounds and finished last in the six-player Group A. Russia’s Daniil Dubov, winner of the second leg - the Lindores Abbey Rapid Challenge - joined Harikrishna on the sidelines after successive defeats to Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura.
