Garry Kasparov and Viswanathan Anand have won 11 World chess titles between them. While the Russian retired from competitive chess in 2005, and has made just a few appearances before the chessboard since, the genial genius from Chennai continues to be among the world’s elite players.

The duo will come face to face once again at the Croatia Grand Chess Tour, which opens at Zagreb on Wednesday. Chess fans from across the world would be looking forward to the games between them over the next few days. They had often produced scintillating chess when they took on each other.
