CWG Day 4: All eyes on Indian boxers, shooters

After the Indian weightlifters put up a brilliant show on day four of the Commonwealth Games by clinching two gold medals, the onus will be on the boxers and shooters on day five.

After weightlifters Sathish Sivalingam and Venkat Rahul Ragala took India's medal tally to six medals by winning the men’s 77kg and 85kg weightlifting gold medals on Saturday, it is the turn of the boxers to make their mark on Sunday.

Pugilists Mary Kom and Lovlina Borgohain will have a shot at securing a medal when they engage in their quarterfinal bouts in their 48kg and 69kg respectively.

Coming to the shooting department, Heena Sidhu and Manu Bhaker remain the top contenders in the women's 10m air rifle event.

The Indian badminton team, which has had a remarkable run so far , will have a chance to seal its spot in the mixed team final when it faces Singapore.

Pranati Nayak will look to secure India's first medal in the gymnastics category when she participates in the vault final on Sunday.

Coming to the weightlifting category, where India has won all of its six medals, Vikas Thakur will be seen in action in the men's 94kg category, while Seema will feature in the women's 69kg category.
