Trevor Bayliss has revealed that England could go with a two-pronged spin attack when it attempts to level the Test series against Pakistan at Old Trafford.

Trevor Bayliss has revealed that England could go with a two-pronged spin attack when it attempts to level the Test series against Pakistan at Old Trafford. Leg-spinner Adil Rashid was on Monday recalled to the squad along with James Anderson and Ben Stokes for the second game of the four-match series, which starts on Friday.

Bayliss said: "I've always thought of playing two spinners [on home soil], at some stage. Pakistan have three left-arm pace bowlers, who created rough outside the off stump for Moeen. So looking ahead, if we did happen to have two spinners, they could both play an important part for us."

Yasir Shah was named Man of the Match at Lord's after taking 10 wickets in his first Test outside of Asia. Bayliss stressed the importance of the England batsmen learning the lessons from their struggles against the leg-spinner in the remainder of the series.

The Australian added: "Our batters have to play their spin a lot better. Especially in the first innings, I felt we gifted him a few wickets with shots I'm sure the boys would like to replay."
