Chetan Chauhan appointed Head of Event for NZ tour match

Former Test opener Chetan Chauhan has been appointed the Head of Event for the upcoming tour match against New Zealand to be held at the Feroz Shah Kotla from September 16 to 18.

Former Test opener Chetan Chauhan has been appointed the Head of Event for the upcoming tour match against New Zealand to be held at the Ferozeshah Kotla from September 16 to 18. Chauhan is currently vice-president of the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA).

In a communication addressed to DDCA officials, Justice (Retd) Mukul Mudgal, entrusted with the job to supervise the affairs of the association, said, “Keeping in mind the view of the executives that the administrative work relating to the matches shall be done by executives only, Mr. Siddharth Sahib Singh is made the venue manager and cricket operations head. However, the vast experience of Mr. Suresh Chopra can not be overlooked and therefore Mr. Chopra shall supervise the venue operations.”

A three-member tender committee, comprising Sunil Jain, Ajay Sharma and Ashok Sharma, was also announced. “It is made clear that no contract or work order without tender process would be entertained. This committee will be assisted by the accounts department under the guidance of Mr. Bajaj and legal department of DDCA. The opening of tenders will be done in presence of Mr. I. P. Singh, deputy CAG,” Justice Mudgal added.

The formation of other committees will be in due course of time.
