CoA asks TNCA to withdraw outstation players, warns action

The CoA has cited Working Committee resolutions (of August 13, 2009 and June 24, 2016) which does not allow players from outside the jurisdiction of T20 organising-state member to take part in the tournament.

On the basis of reports stating that cricketers outside the jurisdiction of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) are to feature in the third edition of the TNPL from July 12, the Committee of Administrators (CoA), representing the BCCI, has told the TNCA to comply with the Rules and Regulations of the BCCI, the advisory sent to it last Tuesday and provide all information as mentioned in it by (Friday) July 6. Failing to comply may result in the TNPL declared as an “Unapproved Tournament” as per the Rules and Regulations of the BCCI.

The CoA has cited Working Committee resolutions (of August 13, 2009 & June 24, 2016) which do not allow players from outside the jurisdiction of T20 organising-State member to take part in the tournament and that permission had not been given in the past to Karnataka and Goa and the second edition of the TNPL.

The CoA has also told all BCCI members to take note of its communication and inform the same to its registered players that they are compliant with the Rules and Regulations of the BCCI, failing which appropriate action will be initiated against defaulting members, players and individuals.

The mail sent to all BCCI members on Thursday evening says that the CoA has been told that the TNCA has not taken permission from the BCCI to conduct the TNPL and that players from outside the jurisdiction of the TNCA are intended to be included and hence it has urged the TNCA to take permission to conduct the league and also confirm that players from outside the jurisdiction of TNCA would not figure in the third edition of the TNPL.
