After a first innings half-century, Ajinkya Rahane in the second dig was dismissed on eight during Hampshire's County game against Somerset.

His India team-mate R. Ashwin playing for Nottinghamshire scored five runs but returned with three wickets in a County outing against Essex. After being ignored for the World Cup, both the players are getting match time ahead of the upcoming season.

Somerset, after opting to bat, scored 408 all out with Kyle Abbott returning with a five-wicket haul. In reply, Hampshire was bowled out for 349, with Rahane scoring 55. Somerset declared its second innings on 358/8 and set a target of 418 to chase.

Hampshire got off to a poor start and was 74/4 with Rahane removed by Lewis Gregory on eight on day four.
