Chasing Hyderabad’s first innings score of 282, host Tamil Nadu was cruising nicely at 256 for six on the penultimate day of the Elite Group ‘A’ U-23 clash of the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy at the ICL Sankar Nagar grounds here on Saturday.

The overnight batsmen, K. Mukunth and S. Radhakrishnan, who put the team in command the other day with an unbroken 145-run stand for the second wicket, fell quite early and that spelt trouble for the team.

But Swaminathan and Kiran Akash built an unbeaten partnership of 69 for the seventh wicket to keep Tamil Nadu's hopes alive of taking the lead.
