An impressive spell of pace bowling by 20-year-old Girinath Reddy helped Andhra make a strong comeback and bowl out Madhya Pradesh for 91 on the second day of round 9 of a Ranji Trophy Group B match at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Tuesday.

After being bowled out for 132 in the first innings, Andhra finished the second day at 198 for seven and has an overall lead of 239 runs. It put up an improved batting display thanks to opening pair of C.R. Gnaneshwar and D.B. Prashanth stitching together a partnership of 73 runs. Then, there was a collapse of sorts before Karan Shinde played the rescue act with a defiant knock of 45 not out.

In the morning session, Madhya Pradesh never really recovered from the early blows which saw it reduced to 49 for six at one stage.
Girinath picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in his maiden Ranji Trophy season and it could not have come at a better time for his team.
