Delhi’s pacers breathed fire, with lef-arm pacer Kulwant Khejroliya being the pick of the bowlers. Hyderabad stumbled to 195 for eight by the end of the second day’s play at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.

Hyderabad stares at the grim possibility of being forced to follow-on after the second day’s play against Delhi in its Ranji Trophy Group A tie at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium stadium here. Replying to Delhi’s 415, Hyderabad stumbled to 195 for eight by the end of the day.

It was a wonderful performance by the Delhi bowling attack. The pacers breathed fire, with the left-arm pacer Kulwant Khejroliya being the pick of the bowlers.

Kulwant rattled the young Rohit Rayudu with two consecutive bouncers, hitting the helmet twice in succession. On the first instance, it was dislodged and fell close to the stumps. He, then, came up with an inswinger to trap him lbw, thereby exemplifying quality fast bowling on a pitch that continued to have good bounce and carry for pacers and even assisted the spinners later.

From a reasonably comfortable 102 for two at tea, it was a collapse of sorts. It started with the dismissal of southpaw and gritty B. Sandeep (26) who was apparently dejected at being declared out lbw to Kulwant. Then, the captain K. Sumanth played a lose drive on the off-stump to pacer Vikas Tokas, giving a simple catch to the point fielder to make the scoreline 135 for four in the 51st over.

Then, left-arm spinner Vikas Mishra bowled a beautiful spell, sending back Ravi Teja and the well-set opener Tanmay Agarwal (63, 159b, 6x4) - the only one who showed the desired discipline with the bat - in the same over. It reduced the home side to 147 for six in 53.3 overs.

Earlier, pacer Ravi Kiran once again showed his efficacy with a three-wicket burst to restrict Delhi to 415, 50 minutes before the lunch break.
