Wet ground conditions for the second consecutive day forced abandonment of play in the four-day Ranji Trophy match between Hyderabad and Maharashtra at Gymkhana Ground here on Saturday.

Though, sharp showers last night once again resulted in wet conditions especially near the boundary line on the football side end - square of the wicket.

Like yesterday, the umpires had two inspections before calling of play for the day at 3.00 pm.

There was visible disappointment in the Hyderabad dug-out which was hoping for a good start to its campaign this season. “We have to keep our fingers crossed for a better and Sunny day tomorrow and hope there will be some action,” coach Arun Kumar said.
