Opener Unmukt Chand came up with a fine performance as it was his prolific 116 that allowed Delhi to register a 55-run win over Uttar Pradesh in a Group B tie of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, at the Lohnu Cricket Ground in Bilaspur on Monday.

Put into bat, the Delhi openers were off to a fine start, sharing a 107-run stand. It was this start that allowed Delhi to put up a fighting 307-6, while UP’s Ankit Rajpoot and Kartik Tyagi claimed a couple of wickets each.

In reply, UP was off to a shaky start. Although middle-order batsman Umang Sharma provided some decent fightback, scoring 103, it went in vain as Delhi’s Kulwant Khejroliya claimed 4-34, bundling UP for 252.
