That man Hashim Amla and the glorious memories!
In a career spanning 15 years, Amla scored 18,000-plus international runs for South Africa in all three formats.

South Africa batsman Hashim Amla — who announced retirement from international cricket on Thursday— had made his Test debut against India at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in 2004. He scored his first Test hundred, 149, against New Zealand in 2006.

Amla's ODI debut happened four years later in 2008. He ended up playing three World Cups including the 2019 edition in England and Wales. He was also named SA Cricketer of the Year in 2010 and 2013.

Amla represented Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League. In 16 matches, he scored 577 runs comprising two centuries and three fifties at a strike-rate of 141.76.

Amla scored 490 runs and was only dismissed once in the two-match Test series in India in 2010. He scored an unbeaten 253 in Nagpur, 114 and 123 not out in Kolkata. He appeared in 349 matches across three formats in his 15-year career for South Africa scoring 18,762 runs.
