Cricket Scotland has roped in former Zimbabwe skipper and coach, Heath Streak, as a consultant to improve its Twenty20 acumen. Streak, fresh from a successful assignment with Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, is expected to join the Scots for the ongoing triangular T20 series with Netherlands and Ireland.

After a historic six-run win against England in the one-off One Day International in Edinburgh last week, Scotland will now look to tone up before the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in Australia in 2020.

Sportstar understands that Streak was highly recommended by Scotland head coach Grant Bradburn for his T20 knowledge and experience. As of now, he will be with Scotland for eight days — during the course of the triangular series.

Surprisingly, Streak was shown the door as coach of Zimbabwe in April once it failed to qualify for the ICC World Cup next year.
