Virender Sehwag unveils Emirates’ World Cup-themed livery

The former India opener also plays cricket with the employees of Emirates Engineering.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag and two cricketers from the Lancashire County Cricket Club — Saqib Mahmood and Tom Bailey — unveiled an ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 themed livery of the Emirates 380 aircraft.

The cricketers and the staff of Emirates Engineering played a game of cricket on the occasion, and excited employees got the chance to take photographs with the World Cup trophy.

David Richardson, the ICC chief executive, said: “I am delighted to be able to see the Emirates plane with the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup livery making its debut today. It is a wonderful way to celebrate what I know is one of the most eagerly awaited sport events of the year and fitting that its first journey is to our hosts in England and Wales.”

Emirates is a sponsor of the World Cup in 2019, and the match officials for the event.
