India may be seen sporting two different jerseys in the upcoming World Cup as the ICC has introduced the concept of home and away 'jerseys' for the World Cup this year.
According to the ICC rulebook: 'For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event. In advance of the event the teams will be notified which coloured kit will be worn in each match."
With England, India, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan having blue as their preferred colour, it is expected that India may have a different jersey, possibly dominated by orange, for the matches against England and Afghanistan. Against Sri Lanka, India has been named the home side and is likely to get the choice of the traditional blue jersey.
According to a report on Times Now , the yet-to-be-released jersey will be of darker blue shade in the front, whereas orange will dominate the sleeves as well as the back.
Meanwhile, Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh also have green as their colour. As a result, they will have to look out for alternatives for a few games.
Australia, West Indies, and New Zealand have unique jerseys and will not be needing an alternate 'away jersey' for their players.
