Jason Roy leaves the field in the match against West Indies at The Hampshire Bowl on Friday in Southampton, England.

Jason Roy's World Cup future could be determined on Saturday when the England batsman undergoes a scan. Even as England crushed the West Indies at the Hampshire Bowl, the day was marred after Roy and captain Eoin Morgan picked up injuries.

Morgan, clearly in discomfort due to a back spasm, addressed his post-match media interaction standing and admitted it is not clear whether he would be able to feature in the team's next fixture against Afghanistan next week.

"I don't know. Like everybody, we will have to see how it pulls up, probably with myself and Jason, maybe a couple of the bowlers, and do a risk assessment and see how risky it is going into that game, bearing in mind we have two games in quite a short space," Morgan said.

"It's sore. I've had back spasms before. We think it is another back spasm. It normally takes a few days to settle down, so yeah... unclear. We'll know more in the next 24 hours... see how I pull up tomorrow," Morgan said.

But how worrying is it in general to have both himself and Roy pulling up?

"I think when any two players go down it is a little bit of a worry. I don't think -- we are not at panic stations or anything yet. We will just see how we get on in the next 48 hours and go from there," the captain said.

Even after a one-sided victory, England clearly has plenty to ponder.
