Bangladesh got off to a flying start when Chris Gayle was out for a duck for the second time in four matches against the Asian side at the World Cup. Gayle edged a Saifuddin ball to wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim.
▲
Opener Evin Lewis finally found form and scored 70 runs off 67 balls with six fours and two sixes. He made up for his opening partner Gayle and shared a 116-run second-wicket partnership with Shai Hope.
▲
Shai Hope continued his amazing run of form against Bangladesh by bringing up his 12th ODI fifty. He ended up with 96 runs which included just 4 fours, just 1 six and lots of running.
▲
Mustafizur Rahman took three crucial wickets in the match, out of which the scalps of Shimron Hetmyer and Andre Russell came in the same over. Constant breakthroughs from Rahman and Saifuddin restricted West Indies to 321 after it looked set to reach 350 at one stage.
▲
Shakib Al Hasan brought up his ninth ODI century and broke a number of records during the course of his innings. He became the fastest ever to achieve the double of 6,000 runs and 250 wickets. He also went above Aaron Finch to become the leading run-scorer of the this year's World Cup.
▲
Liton Das gave Shakib good company, in an unbeaten partnership of 189, to guide Bangladesh to a well-deserved win over the Windies. Liton, playing his first game of the 2019 World Cup, brought up a stroke-filled 94.
