Virat Kohli brought up his 24th Test century and 17th as Test captain, making a 230-ball 139 on his return from a short break. His knock was punctuated with 10 fours. In trying to accelerate the scoring rate, he holed out to mid-on off the bowling of debutant Sherman Lewis.
Ravindra Jadeja made his maiden Test hundred and remained unbeaten when Virat Kohli declared the Indian innings after piling up 649 runs on the board, for the loss of nine wickets.
