  • Hanuma Vihari and Murali Vijay have added 100 runs for the second wicket. Vihari has contributed all of 15 runs to the partnership, while Vijay has done the bulk of the scoring.

  • Back to back sixes for Vijay! He's taken his game up a notch and is taking apart the CA XI bolwing. He has helped India take the lead and has soared to 121 from 125 deliveries. India now leads by 12 runs.

  • That was quick! Vijay races to his century with a fine boundary off a back of length delivery from Short. This will serve as a huge boost to him going into the opening Test. India 179/1, trails CA XI by 7 runs.

  • Murali Vijay brings up his half century in style. He slams a boundary past deep backward point to reach 52.

  • OUT! D'Arcy Short breaks the opening partnership as he dismisses Rahul for 62. It was a full toss and  Rahul tried to work it through mid wicket but was caught by max Bryant. India 109/1.

  • The 100 comes up for India! Rahul and Vijay have looked in fine form so far, which is good news for India considering Prithvi Shaw is ruled out of the first Test and that these two are likely to open the innings. Rahul is on 61, while Vijay has scored 44. India is currently at 106/0, trailing CA XI by 80 runs.

  • India goes into tea at 63/0 from 19 overs on the fourth and final day of the practice match. India trails CA XI by 123 runs.

  • Rahul and Vijay have put up an unbeaten opening stand of 50 runs. After failing to fire in the first innings, Rahul has played a the waiting game and patiently worked his way to 27. The seasoned Vijay has looked sharp and is on 24. India is at 52 from 17 overs, trailing CA XI by 134 runs.

  •

  • As expected, KL Rahul and Murali Vijay open the second innings for India, India needs 186 runs to avoid an innings defeat. Looks like it.

  • CA XI posts a first innings total of 544, going into bowl with a lead of 186 runs.

  • OUT! Jasprit Bumrah took just seven balls to work his way into the tour match. He bowls Coleman with an unbeatable yorker.

  • Play begins after lunch. Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav come into the attack. despite not being named in the initial 14 at toss.

  • During lunch, let's catch up on the Australia vs India Test series build-up: Contrasting opinions Ian Chappell: 'I am picking Australia over India but don’t ask me why'Dean Jones: 'If India doesn’t win this time, they never will in Australia' Controversial Clarke warns Aussies 'nice guys don't win' Problems up top K. L. Rahul is finding new ways to get out, says Sanjay BangarShaw injures ankle, ruled out of first Test

  • We break for lunch . How are they still batting? CA XI had the upper hand in the first session scoring 193 runs for the loss of three wickets. And at 541/9, India is finding it hard to bowl them out. Ishant Sharma broke the 180-run Hardie-Nielsen partnership when Aaron Hardie fell short of a hundred. Harry Nielsen scored a century and was dismissed on 100 by Virat Kohli. Daniel Fallins' (43) was the next wicket to fall. Luke Robbins and Jackson Coleman are at the crease.

  • Robbins and Coleman bring up their 50-run partnership. The session has belonged to Cricket Australia XI. Starting the day at 358/9 (it was 234/6 at one point on day three), it has lost only three wickets and managed to make almost 200 runs.  539/9

  • CA XI have crossed the 500-run mark. Luke Robbins and Jackson Coleman have been batting well and looked hard to dismiss.  Conceding more than 500 runs against an inexperienced side raises concerns, doesn't it? The Indian bowlers can't seem to get that last wicket still. CA XI 536/9

  • OUT! Maybe they won't have to declare after all. Daniel Fallins falls to R. Ashwin for a well-made 42. The CA XI number nine batsman put up a brave show, just going after the Indian bowlers.  487/9

  • Daniel Fallins on 42 and Luke Robbins on 16 are not finding it too hard down there. They've accelerated the scoring a bit and CA XI is 485/8 with a 127-run lead. With about forty minutes to go for lunch, now might be a good time for CA XI to declare and get some overs in before lunch.

  • And almost immediately Nielsen gets out. What's more surprising to us and the man himself? Virat Kohli picks up a wicket! Nielsen pats Kohli on the back as he walks off. Nielsen out for 100. CA XI 458/8 There. Don't hide it, Skip. We know that was no fluke.

  • Harry Nielsen scores a century! It's been a terrific innings under pressure, that saw some sweet strokeplay. The SCG crowd knows and it gives him a standing ovation.

  • Harry Nielsen is still at the crease on 95 (n.o.) with Daniel Fallins. Ishant Shamra has bowled a good spell so far and guess who's squeezed in a few overs himself - its captain Kohli! Cricket Australia XI leads by 69 runs. 427/7

  • WICKET! Ishant Sharma gets the breakthrough for India, dismissing Aaron Hardie, who gets caught behind. He was looking dangerous and the 180-run partnership comes to an end. What an innings from the man who was exceptiona with the ball as well, picking up 4 wickets! He departs for 86.  CA XI  414/7

Summer's here! In Australia, of course.

  • Cricket Australia XI started the day off by taking the lead with Harry Nielsen and Aaron Hardie at the crease.
