Extra bounce this time on the outside off googly and gets the better of Pooran once more. Short on leg this time and Pooran back away outside leg and slaps it through the covers for a couple. Harshal getting some sawdust sprinkled from his bowling end under dewy conditions. Bunted to point for a quick single. A peach! Slow, nipped in and Chase is beaten! OUT! Chase heaves his first one to Shreyas again at long on and a good stop to keep it to two. FOUR! Fortuitous boundary! Chase gets an inside to run away to the third man boundary. FOUR! Driven outside off and Chase gets an outside edge this time and past a diving keeper. Single to end the over.
WI 87/4 in 10 overs: Thakur returns. Thumped to deep mid wicket by Pooran for one. Cross-seam delivery to Holder and he gets a leading edge that goes between cover and point for one. A couple of dots as Pooran can't get it away outside off. Finally gets one with a slash outside off. Full-toss, flicked to long on for a single to end the over and Holder keeps strike.
WI 83/4 in 9 overs: Venkatesh with the ball. Pooran pulls to deep mid wicket for one. FOUR! Decked in again outside off, climbed onto him, Pollard was cramped for room and got a top edge on the pull to run away for four at fine leg. OUT! Pollard holes out. Full outside off and Pollard chips it to the man in the deep. The bat turned in his hand and he ended up almost slicing it to deep cover. Pooran guides with open face to short third for a single. Holder the new man in. Taps on the off side first ball for a dot. Good stop by Gaikwad at point to end the over with a dot.
WI 77/3 in 8 overs: Bishnoi to Pollard. Pitched up on off and defended back. LBW appeal next ball but it struck him outside off stump. Wide down leg. Another wide ball down leg side. Turned away with the turn to square leg for a single. Spinning away outside off and Pooran punches to mid off for one. Loud LBW appeal and not given! Rohit reviews it. WI 68/2 in 6 overs: Bishnoi slides onto the pads first ball and Powell bunts it over mid wicket for one. Wide and quick googly outside off to Pooran and is beaten trying to cut. Similar delivery and slashed hard for just one. Full outside off and drilled down the ground and a goo effort at mid off by Siraj to keep it to one. FOUR! Another wide googly and Pooran finds the boundary this time on the cut. Single to end the over.
WI 60/2 in 5 overs: SIX! Length offered by Thakur on the pads and Powell swivels and pulls it over deep fine leg. FOUR! Drifted on the pads again and put away behind the keeper. Poor start by Thakur. Full and wide outside off and he will need to reload that one again. Short and top-edged by Powell over the bowler for two runs. FOUR! Gift outside off on a length and Powell clubs it over extra cover for another boundary. Slower one, Powell steers it to third man and a good stop inside the ring to keep it to one.
WI 42/2 in 4 overs : Avesh continues. Pooran takes a single at square leg. Powell guides with open face straight to point for dot. Powell misses a flourishing flick on the leg to collect one leg-bye. FOUR! Length outside off and pulled away by Pooran through mid wicket region. Edged next one, short of first slip. FOUR! Too straight and length again; put away by Pooran to the mid wicket fence.
WI 32/2 in 3 overs: FOUR! Hope finds the boundary off his first ball. Short from Chahar outside off and checks his pull shot past mid on. FOUR! Full and drifting into pads, flicked to the deep mid wicket boundary. Good comeback! Some in-swing and it gets Hope's inside half of the bat to roll in front of him. OUT! Edged behind again. Got it to move away from a length on off stump and a feather to the keeper. Powell beaten first ball outside off! Swinging away again and goes under his bat. Chahar pulls out of his run-up and he is in trouble. The physio is out and it doesn't look good for him. Seems to have pulled his hip flexor. He is walking off the field. Venkatesh will complete his over. SIX! Full on middle and flicked by Powell with ease over mid wicket.
WI 18/1 in 2 overs: Avesh Khan bowls his first over in international cricket. FOUR! Back of a length outside off and Pooran slapped it past extra cover for a boundary. Fuller and room outside off, driven to mid off for two. FOUR! Width again outside off and Pooran flays it over point. 10 runs off three balls and not the start Avesh would have wanted. Beaten! Slower one on middle and leg, on a length and beats Pooran's attempted pull. Wide outside off. Beaten! Fuller and closer to off stump and Pooran is beaten trying to swing. WI 7/1 in 1 over: Just short of mid on first ball and they scamper for a couple. Mayers look to launch a full one on off stump over the inner-circle. Beaten! Swing and a miss outside off. Straight on, Mayers misses the attempted flick and given! Mayers goes straight up. No bat involved. But it misses the stumps, going over middle stump. Mayers survives. FOUR! Pitched up outside off and thumped down the ground for a boundary. OUT! Big appeal for caught behind and umpire is unmoved. Rohit reviews immediately. IND 184/5 in 20 overs: Shepherd bowls the last over. Wide down leg to begin. SIX! Over-pitched, in the slot and slogged over long off. That brings up his fifty off just 27 balls. Single next ball after pulling to deep mid wicket. Full and pitching outside leg, Venkatesh inside edges for one. SIX! Full-toss on middle and punished with a wristy flick over fine leg for six more. Some very ordinary bowling here from the Windies but nothing to take away from some brilliant stroke-making by this duo. SIX! And they keep coming. In the slot again and Suryakumar blazes this away off his willow over long off again. OUT! Full-toss drifting down leg and Surya flicks it straight to deep square leg. Another cheeky shot for a maximum. Full outside off and sliced it over third man. Full-toss on middle and digs it out for just one. FOUR! Width outside off stump and Venkatesh waits for the slower one and chips it over point. FOUR LEG-BYES! It goes off Venky's boot as he shuffles across off stump looking to lap it behind to fine. FOUR! He misses another leg side yorker and collects one leg-bye. Venkatesh steps out, Holder keeps it away from him outside off and he misses. SIX! Deft and delectable! Length on middle and Venkatesh shuffles across to off and sweeps it behind. Full and wide, slower one and misses.
IND 132/4 in 17 overs: Shepherd back to bowl his third. Pace off outside off and driven by Venky for one on the side. Slower one again on the leg and worked away on the on side for one more. FOUR! Gliding down leg side and Venky flicks it behind very fine. SIX! Short stuff on leg and pulled with verve over square leg for a maximum. India getting a move on here. Chipped over the infield on the off for a single. FOUR! Length outside off and slapped to the long off fence.
IND 115/4 in 16 overs: SIX! What a shot! Slog sweeps pacer Drakes over deep fine leg for six runs. He moved his front foot across to off stump and scooped/swept this with audacity. A short break here as it takes some time to retrieve the ball. Length outside off, going across and driven slightly uppishly for a single at deep point. FOUR! Full and middle and off and beautifully cover-driven for a boundary. Wide outside off. Drakes under pressure. Beaten! Slower one on a length outside off; it nipped in a bit to beat Venky's jab. FOUR! Loud appeal for LBW but not given. Pollard review and there is a faint nick on it and review lost. Suryakumar punches off the backfoot and over mid off for a single. IND 81/3 in 12 overs: Chase bowls out. Full and middle and leg and Suryakumar nudges it to mid wicket for a single. Rohit too flicks but finds the short mid wicket fielder. Clipped behind square for one next ball. Just three runs from the over and another brilliant spell from Chase comes to an end. One for 23 in four overs.
IND 78/3 in 11 overs: Rohit and Suryakumar nudge Walsh around for four singles off the first four balls. SIX! Dragged his length back a bit, pitched on middle and Suryakumar pulls with disdain and over the mid wicket rope for the first maximum of the day. Single to deep point next ball. Dot to end the over.
IND 68/3 in 10 overs: Kishan drives the first one straight back to Chase. Pulled off the backfoot for a single through mid wicket. Rohit is off the mark with a flick through the on side for one. OUT! Bowled him! Kishan went for the pull again but was too early into the shot and missed. Suryakumar comes in and clips the first one to fine leg for a single. One more for Rohit to end the over.
IND 64/2 in 9 overs: Shreyas takes two with a flick through deep mid wicket. OUT! Shreyas looks to smash this tossed up delivery but ends up getting a top edge to long off. IND 61/1 in 8 overs: Chase to Kishan. He inside edges it for a couple at square leg. One more at long off. FOUR! Full and Shreyas picks it up between long on and deep mid wicket for a boundary. One bounce four! Flicked to short fine for a single. Kishan caresses this off the backfoot for a single at deep point. Another single to square leg to end the over.
IND 51/1 in 7 overs: Spin from both ends as leg spinner Walsh comes on. Shreyas punches off the backfoot for a single. Dropped! Kishan smacked this one straight to Walsh and he floors it. It was hit very hard but Walsh should have held on to it. A couple of singles to follow. FOUR! Tossed up in the blockhole and Kishan thumps it down the ground for four runs. 50 up with that in 6.5 overs. Sliced through the off side for a single at deep point.
IND 43/1 in 6 overs: The Chase test up next for Kishan. Kishan collects a couple through mid wicket. Kishan punches this length ball through mid wicket again for a single. Fuller on the pads and Shreyas turns it away to square leg for one. Full-toss outside off but Kishan's heave bullets straight to mid off; only one. Shreyas takes a single at mid on to end the over.
IND 37/1 in 5 overs: FOUR! Shreyas drives down the ground with sublime timing. A real gift for Shreyas; pitched up and full. FOUR! Uppish drive through covers and two back to back boundaries. LBW appeal next ball but not given. A slower one outside off and completely deceived Shreyas. The bat brushed the pad and that was what had the keeper and bowler interested. Shreyas taps on the off for a quick single. Wide outside off and Kishan reaches out desperately. Quick single to end the over.

FOUR! Kishan swipes outside off and gets a thick outside edge that runs away past short third man. Beaten! Shaping away and slower and Kishan misses trying to carve it behind.
IND 15/1 in 3 overs : Holder continues. Full and swinging away and beats Kishan. He taps the next one on leg for one. OUT! Gaikwad gets a leading edge to third man. Shreyas is in at three. Kishan gets another leg-bye on leg side. Shreyas edges first ball but just short of slip. Holder gets it to move away from him. FOUR! Shreyas smashes the next one over mid on for four.
IND 9/0 in 2 overs: Gaikwad cuts a length ball on off from Shepherd and a spectacular stop by Allen at point. Definitely saved four runs there. FOUR! Little fuller and room outside off and Gaikwad finds the gap through Allen and Walsh this time. Gaikwad steps out and misses. This one shaped quite a bit off a length on off stump to deceive him. Tapped to point off the backfoot to end the over.
IND 5/0 in 1 over: Holder to Gaikwad first ball. Full on the pads, drifting down leg and one leg-bye to start with. Kishan starts off with defending back to the bowler. Drives the next one to mid off for another dot. FOUR! Pitched up on the pads and Kishan flicks it off his hips to the fine leg boundary. Couple of dots to end the over. Five runs from the first over.

The West Indies, come Sunday, will hope to take back home at least one happy memory from what has been a rather forgettable tour of India.
To be sure, Rovman Powell and vice-captain Nicholas Pooran almost took the visitor across the finish line with a century partnership in the previous fixture, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel's smart ploy of mixing up deliveries and bowling wide yorkers at the death ensured India extended its winning streak to eight Twenty20 Internationals.
Eden Gardens' super soppers, however, may be put to the test during the third T20I, with weathermen predicting a 40 per cent possibility of showers and early thunderstorms.
