Pujara pips Dravid for most balls faced by an Indian in a Test innings

Cheteshwar Pujara's innings against Australia in Ranchi lasted over 10 hours.

Cheteshwar Pujara, on Sunday, bettered Rahul Dravid's record for having faced the most balls in a Test innings by an Indian.

Dravid, in his marathon innings of 270 against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, faced 495 balls. Pujara, in Ranchi, was unbeaten on 186 against Australia when he faced the 496th ball of his innings.

Pujara's innings -- 202 off 525 balls -- lasted for over 10 hours. The double hundred was his second against Australia and third overall.

Len Hutton's 364 off 847 balls against Australia in 1938 is the longest Test innings.
