India vs CA XI Tour game Day 3: Indian bowlers toil; Shaw to miss first Test
On a day when Indian bowlers were sent on a leather hunt by the host side, an injury to young opener Prithvi Shaw only compounded the visitor's troubles.

Cricket Australia XI eased to a comfortable 356 for 6 against India on the third day of the tour game at the SCG on Friday. The Indian quicks were made to toil after openers Max Bryant and D'arcy Short added 114 runs for the first wicket.
Adding to India's problems was the injury to young opener Prithvi Shaw, who has been ruled out of the first Test in Adelaide after suffering a left ankle injury while attempting a catch.
Shaw underwent scans and the reports revealed a lateral ligament injury. He will undergo an intensive rehabilitation program to get him fully fit in time for the second Test.
Earlier, Short top-scored with 74 off 91, which included 11 hits to the fence. He found able support in the form of Max Bryant (62), who was clean bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin.
Aaron Hardie and Harry Nielsen saw out the day through an unbroken stand of 122.

The new-ball pair of Umesh Yadav (1-81) and Mohammed Shami (3-67) was put to sword; the duo conceding nearly six runs an over in the first hour of play. Shami, however, got rid of the dangerous Short on the stroke of lunch.
The Indian bowlers, though, did put up an improved showing during the afternoon session. Shami's skills with the old ball came to the fore once again as he picked up Jake Carder and Jonathan Merlo to leave the host struggling at 234 for 6.
Ashwin returned figures of 1 for 63 at 2.63 to emerge as India's most economical bowler of the day.
