Chandimal to lead Sri Lanka, Thirimanne picked

Dinesh Chandimal will lead Sri Lanka in the second Test against India at the Sinhalese Sports Club here from Thursday. The host skipper had missed the first Test at Galle as he was recuperating from pneumonia.

Lahiru Thirimanne has been picked as a replacement for the injured Asela Gunaratne

Dinesh Chandimal will lead Sri Lanka in the second Test against India at the Sinhalese Sports Club here from Thursday. The host skipper had missed the first Test at Galle as he was recuperating from pneumonia.

From the squad that did duty at Galle, the injured duo of Asela Gunaratne and Suranga Lakmal was ruled out and subsequently spinner Lakshan Sandakan and batsman Lahiru Thirimanne have been picked. The last-named makes a national comeback after a year.
