BCCI VP: Will discuss with Board members

When asked if India would take part in the ICC Champions Trophy (from June 1 to 18 in England), Khanna said he’s not in a position to respond to the question.

The BCCI’s senior Vice-President, C. K. Khanna (discharging the duties of the President) told Sportstar that he would ask for reports from officials who were in Dubai for the ICC meetings, discuss matters with the Jt. Secretary (Amitabh Choudhary), Treasurer (Anirudh Chaudhary) and other members of the Board before convening a Special General Meeting (SGM). The BCCI CEO Rahul Johri attended the CEC meeting and Prof. Ratnakar Shetty (GM – Game Development) and M.V.Sridhar (GM – Cricker Operations) were deputed for other Committee meetings.

The BCCI at the adjourned SGM at New Delhi on April 18, proposed resolutions that only authorised Choudhary (named by the Supreme Court for the ICC Board meeting) to ask the ICC to defer taking decisions on the administrative structure beyond the ICC Annual Conference in June and vote against the Constitution and Financial models as agreed upon by the ICC on February 4.

“It’s a very sensitive matter. I have to discuss matters with my colleagues. I can call a SGM at short notice. But all will happen only after I discuss the outcome of the meetings in Dubai with Board members,” said Khanna.

When asked if India would take part in the ICC Champions Trophy (from June 1 to 18 in England), Khanna said he’s not in a position to respond to the question.

It’s possible that Khanna may have asked for independent reports from Amitabh Choudhary, Anirudh Chaudhry and Rahul Johri.
