Ranji Trophy 2018-19: Saurashtra’s Jaydev Shah to retire from all cricket

Jaydev Shah, the 35-year-old Saurashtra batsman, will retire after the Ranji Trophy contest against Karnataka.

Saurashtra captain Jaydev Shah has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Saurashtra’s Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka, which commences here on Thursday, will be his last.

Read | Delhi takes on Andhra in crucial tie Jaydev, the son of former BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah, had played 119 first-class matches for his State. The batsman has scored 5253 runs, at an average of 29.67. He has also featured in 65 List-A games, making 1277 runs at an average of 20.26.

Jaydev, 35, has captained Saurashtra in 111 games — a record for any captain in domestic cricket.
