A day after being accused of conflict of interest by Niraj Gunde, an RTI activist who is reportedly close to a former BCCI president, BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur brushed aside the allegations. Thakur, however, continued to support the BCCI president Shashank Manohar’s move of appointing an Ombudsman.

“I think with the appointment of the Ombudsman, certain people are busy making false allegations. Unfortunately these are limited number of people who have been involved in such activity for the last so many years with a certain motive and agenda in their mind,” Thakur said after the IPL governing council meeting.

Thakur has been accused of having business interests with national selector Vikram Rathour. Besides, BCCI media manager Nishant Arora, handpicked by Thakur, has also been alleged of conflict of interest by Gunde.
