Ravichandran Ashwin took 45 Tests to reach 250 wickets, beating Dennis Lillee's 48 Tests.

It was Ravichandran Ashwin’s way of remembering the world record he set when he became the fastest bowler to take 250 wickets in Tests (from 45 Testes). Ashwin removed Mushfiqur Rahim to achieve the feat, beating the previous record of Dennis Lillee (from 48 Tests).

As the Test came to an end, with >India winning the one-off tie by 208 runs at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here, Ashwin was seen walking quietly towards Rahim during the presentation ceremony. It appeared that Ashwin got the the cricket ball autographed by the Bangladesh captain, who happened to be his 250th Test victim.

“Yes, Ashwin wanted the ball to be signed by me as I happen to be his 250th victim. I am glad to be part of this cricketing history,” Rahim revealed at an informal chat at the end of the media briefing despite his team losing the Test on Monday.
