A delay in visa clearance held Amir’s departure with the team on Monday.

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir is all set to fly to the UK to join his side for the tour of Ireland and England. A delay in visa clearance held his departure with the team on Monday.

Amir received his visa on Tuesday.

“The UK visa has been issued to Amir. He will travel on Wednesday morning to join the Pakistan squad,” a Pakistan Cricket Board spokesperson told Sportstar .

There were speculations regarding the visa delay for Amir’s history in the UK back in 2010. The 26-year-old had served half of a six-month jail sentence over spot-fixing charges.

But later, Amir became a regular visitor after he married Narjis — a British woman of Pakistani origin.

However, the PCB understands that “procedural delay” made Amir wait.

Pakistan will start its tour against Kent and Northamptonshire on April 28 and May 4 respectively.
