Sri Lanka paceman Dushmantha Chameera was ruled out of the Lord's Test due to a stress fracture.

Uncapped seamer Chaminda Bandara has been called up to the Sri Lanka squad ahead of the third Test against England next week as a replacement for Dushmantha Chameera. Chameera took 3-64 in the crushing first-Test defeat at Headingley, but was ruled out for the rest of the series due to a stress fracture in his lower back.

Sri Lanka lost Dhammika Prasad to a shoulder injury before the opening Test in Leeds and the tourist has now opted to draft in Bandara. The 29-year-old took 9-68 for Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club against the Sri Lanka Army in the AIA Premier League Tournament in his last match two months ago.

Kusal Perara will travel with Bandara to England after the wicketkeeper-batsman was given the nod to replace Prasad last month. Shaminda Eranga can also play in the third and final Test, which starts next Thursday at Lord's, despite being reported for a suspect bowling action following a nine-wicket defeat in the second Test at Chester-le-Street this week.

Eranga must undergo testing in Loughborough next Monday, but is permitted to bowl in international cricket until the results of the assessment are known.

Sri Lanka will be out to deny England a 3-0 series whitewash in London.
