Waqar: We have taken enough on the chin

Pakistan coach Waqar Younis feels the team has got enough on the chin and it is now time for it to turn around and start delivering in the upcoming ICC World T20.
“It is not a pleasant situation. In this business, you have got to take it on your chin. So we are all trying our best to do better and put a good team on the field for the World T20,” Younis said before departing with a win against Sri Lanka in the last Asia Cup T20 league outing.
“When you play badly, these things get highlighted and lots of debates happen. We haven’t been playing well the last few months. We are looking for the best combination. The selectors chose the best players and sent them here. Our opening slot and the top three (batsmen) have not done well. So they (selectors) will sit down and discuss to find the best solution,” Waqar said.
Speaking about Pakistan’s sloppy showing in the tournament, Waqar said the performance of the bowlers was the positive outcome. “It had been tough. We have grilled our batsmen and off the field the media has also grilled them. To be fair to them, it has been a tough outing considering the pitches and the conditions."
"The big positive is that the bowlers have done well. I am really impressed with Mohammad Amir’s bowling. Mohammad Irfan has come along well as well as Wahab Riaz,” he said looking ahead to a better showing in the World Cup.

It’s about time we all back our boys as well as the management because the backing will be required,” the former Pakistan captain said.
