IPL 2019: I am sure our batsmen will bounce back, says Quinton de Kock

Mumbai Indians’ South African recruit, Quinton de Kock, admitted that it would be ‘nice’ if a few top-order batsmen can continue till the end.

Quinton de Kock is hopeful that the Mumbai top-order will fire.

In an action-packed tournament like the Indian Premier League (IPL), every team wants to score the maximum runs at the death overs.

On Tuesday, Mumbai Indians’ South African recruit, Quinton de Kock, admitted that it would be ‘nice’ if a few top-order batsmen can continue till the end.

“In T20 (cricket), it’s always nice if we have one of the top three or four batting in the last couple of overs. Unfortunately, we haven’t really done that so far yet in the tournament.

So, it is never easy to come in the situation after losing two quick wickets, it is a bit tough and I’m sure they (the batsmen) will come back,” de Kock said on Tuesday.

So far in the tournament, bowling has been an area of concern for Mumbai Indians.

“The last three wickets we played, they have been very batsmen friendly. Our bowlers are always under massive pressure.

(It) doesn’t matter who you are. Some of the bowlers in the team will stand up. They have done well for the country and have done well for Mumbai (in the past), so I am sure they will step up,” de Kock said.

With Australia pacer, Jason Behrendorff, joining the side ahead of its important fixture against Chennai Super Kings, the side will be bolstered.

“Obviously, he has been here for a couple of days, so he is still getting used to the team environment. We are just looking to know each other but he brings great value to the team,” de Kock said.
