IPL Diary: Royals to wear new jersey on May 11

As a part of its ‘Cancer Out’ campaign, the Royals will don a special colour after trials and camera tests.

Though there are speculations that it could be pink, the jersey colour is still not finalised.

 

When Rajasthan Royals takes on Chennai Super Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on May 11, the host side will be donning new colours.

As a part of its ‘Cancer Out’ campaign, the Royals will don a special jersey to raise awareness and appeal to the people of Rajasthan to come forward and join hands to support the cancer detection process.

On Wednesday, the franchise, along with Tata Trusts, launched a state-wide ‘Cancer Out’ campaign to popularise cancer screening. It will be run with the support of the Government of Rajasthan, National Cancer Grid, Indian Cancer Society and Indian Dental Association in the state.

At the moment, ten screening centres have been activated and will be open for public to get themselves screened.

“It is an initiative that all must support. It is for a noble cause and we are hoping to get a good response,” Rajasthan Royals’ executive chairman, Ranjit Barthakur, told Sportstar .

Though there are speculations that it could be pink, the jersey colour is still not finalised. A final decision will be taken after trials and camera tests.
