Toss update: Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians captain, has won the toss and opted to field first. Evin Lewis is back for Mumbai and he replaces his compatriot Kieron Pollard. For Kings XI, Yuvraj Singh, Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel are back in the XI.

Holkar Stadium in Indore, the home ground of Kings XI Punjab, is set to host its first IPL match of the season, with Mumbai Indians visiting. This is also the first meeting of the season between Punjab and Mumbai.

Mumbai finds itself in a situation potentially needing to win each of its six remaining fixtures to reach the IPL 2018 playoffs. It has good memories of this venue, where it emphatically beat Kings XI by eight wickets last season.

Kings XI is enjoying one of its better seasons and the decision to appoint R. Ashwin as captain has paid rich dividends. Boasting a strong top-order and a slew of quality spinners in its arsenal, Kings XI has reasons to be upbeat about another strong showing on what is its home ground for the rest of the season.
