Jos Buttler’s Indian Premier League (IPL) stint has come to an early halt as the England wicketkeeper-batsman flew back home on Saturday to be with his wife, Louise Webber, who is expecting her first child. Buttler had married his long-time girlfriend Louise in October 2017.

With the World Cup and England’s ODI series against Pakistan coming up, the England and Wales Cricket Board had directed the players to return to the country on or before April 26. So,  Buttler was scheduled to leave India after Rajasthan Royals’ fixture against Delhi Capitals on Monday (April 22).

The 28-year-old has had a successful outing in the IPL. Scoring 311 runs in eight games, Buttler remains seventh in the highest run-getters’ list.

Earlier in the tournament, Buttler was ‘Mankaded’ by Kings XI Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin, which created a furore in the cricketing fraternity.
