Earlier this year, when Lakshmipathy Balaji joined the Chennai Super Kings as its bowling coach, there were speculations over his successor at Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

KKR has now roped in former Zimbabwe skipper Heath Streak as its bowling coach this season.

In the last couple of seasons, Streak was associated with the now-defunct Gujarat Lions.

The 43-year-old’s impressive track record as Zimbabwe coach and the bowling coach of Bangladesh helped his candidature. He is the only new inclusion in the KKR support staff, which has Jacques Kallis and Simon Katich in its ranks.

Having young pacers like Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi in the bowling department, Streak’s appointment could well be a boon for KKR.

Though there is no official announcement on the development.
