A day after being included in the West Indies World Cup 15-member provisional squad, Oshane Thomas was handed his IPL debut in Rajasthan Royals match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday.

Thomas is touted as the next big thing for West Indies cricket. He was drafted into the West Indies team after finishing the 2018 Caribbean Premier League with highest number of wickets among the pacers.

Interestingly, he made his both ODI and T20I debuts against India. On his ODI debut in Guwahati, he was quick and was close to jump the 150kph speed barrier.

In his short international career, Thomas has picked 15 and 5 wickets in ODIs and T2OIs respectively.

On his T20I debut, he dismissed Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan cheaply.

"Oshane is a really exciting talent without doubt. He's got good height, plus that jump he takes, if he bowls in the right areas, it won't be easy for any batsman in the world to counter that. He's really talented," Rohit had said after the match.
