Jonny Bairstow and David Warner gave Sunrisers a fine start in chase of 121.

Hello and welcome to Sportstar's LIVE coverage of Match 14 of IPL 2021 as Punjab Kings take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Result: SRH win by 9 wickets

There it is! What a comprehensive win this has been for the Sunrisers and the chase was scripted by Jonny Bairstow who made a brilliant unbeaten 63 off 56 deliveries. He was well supported by David Warner, who made a run-a-ball 37 and then by Kane Williamson who made an unbeaten 16 off 19 balls.

SRH 111/1 after 18 overs: Fifty for Bairstow - Excellent knock under pressure as Bairstow pulls Hooda to the deep boundary to get to his half-century and this has been a classic knock with the Englishman not throwing his wicket away. SRH needs 10 runs in 12 balls.

SRH 104/1 after 17 overs: Punjab not letting Hyderabad romp home comfortably but Sunrisers will hope Bairstow and Williamson do the job for the team. 17 required off 18 deliveries.

SRH 100/1 after 16 overs: The 100 is up for Hyderabad and it now needs just 21 runs from 24 balls to pocket first points. Meanwhile, Henriques handed Williamson a life after dropping a sitter. Bairstow, five runs away from half-century.

SRH 95/1 after 15 overs: Excellent figures from the debutant as Fabian Allen finishes with 4-1-22-1 but unfortunately Punjab don't have enough runs on the board.

SRH 91/1 after 14 overs: Hyderabad needs 30 runs and Bairstow will look to get them as quickly as possible and boost the net run-rate. He is nine runs shy of his half-century.

SRH 87/1 after 13 overs: Fabian Allen is bowling a fine spell as he finishes his third and although the boundaries have dried up, Bairstow and Sunrisers know they are cruising at this stage.

SRH 80/1 after 12 overs: Bairstow is playing a lovely knock, just banking on singles and twos when the boundaries aren't available and with Williamson in company, Sunrisers will believe it can overhaul the target without much hiccups.

SRH 73/1 after 11 overs: Wicket-Maiden! A tired-looking shot from Warner fethches Fabian Allen his maiden wicket on debut for Punjab and Hyderabad loses its captain for a run-a-ball 37. That brings Kane Williamson into the middle and the New Zealander joins Bairstow.

SRH 73/0 after 10 overs: Fantastic from Warner as he smacks Hooda over the extra cover for a maximum and that was an outstanding shot, given that the bowler bowled a touch wide and Warner had to reach for it. This is turning out to be a cakewalk for Hyderabad.

SRH 64/0 after 9 overs: Spin from both ends as Ashwin and Hooda are trying to make a breakthrough but both SRH openers are cautious and look in complete control of the game. Hyderabad needs 57 runs in 66 deliveries.

SRH 58/0 after 8 overs: Deepak Hooda gets one to spin past David Warner's defence and he quickly gets one under his belt and bowls five dots on trot. Punjab trying to create some pressure.

SRH 56/0 after 7 overs: Hyderabad on cruise mode as both Warner and Bairstow are well-set in the middle and with not much scorecard pressure both openers are playing to the merit of the ball and are milking the Punjab attack. Punjab in desperate need for wickets.

SRH 50/0 after 6 overs: The fifty-run stand between Warner and Bairstow is up and what a fabulous start this has been from the Hyderabad openers. Chasing a modest total, the side required a solid start and it's captain Warner leading from the front. Punjab needs wickets in cluster.

SRH 40/0 after 5 overs: Bairstow is not holding back as he pulls Moises Henriques over the long leg for a maximum and Sunrisers off to a fiery start in chase of 121.

SRH 33/0 after 4 overs: Bairstow and Warner are currently dealing in singles as Arshdeep Singh is introduced into the attack and both batsmen look somewhat settled in the middle.

SRH 27/0 after 3 overs: Warner was a goner had Fabian Allen hit the stumps as the SRH skipper responded for a quick single. SRH is chasing a small target but cannot afford to lose wickets as it will be difficult for the new batsman to play shots at will.

SRH 17/0 after 2 overs: Alright Jonny Bairstow welcomes Fabian Allen first with a boundary and then ends the over with a handsome six over mid-on as SRH is away in the run chase.

SRH 6/0 after 1 over: Warner is up and running as Shami offers width and the SRH skipper acknowledges with a cut through point. Bairstow, too is off the mark.

Alright the SRH openers - David Warner and Jonny Bairstow are out there in the middle and it will be Mohammed Shami with the new ball. SRH needs 121 runs to get first win.

End of Innings: PBKS 120 all out in 19.4 overs: Sunrisers Hyderabad will believe they can register first points on board after bowling out Punjab for 120. It was a brilliant show by the SRH bowlers as Khaleel was the star with a three-wicket haul and Abhishek Sharma chipped in with two, with Rashid Khan trapping the dangerous Chris Gayle. Punjab kept losing at regular intervals and never got a partnership going as the KL Rahul-led side posted the lowest total in Chepauk in IPL 2021. Back for the chase in a while.

PBKS 114/8 after 19 overs: Khaleel Ahmed his picked his third wicket and he removes the dangerous Shahrukh Khan, who went for a wild slog only to spoon an easy catch to the fielder at deep.

PBKS 110/7 after 18 overs: Top stuff from Siddharth Kaul as he keeps Shahrukh Khan at bay with a wide yorker and Punjab is in desperate need for some meaty strikes in the final two overs.

PBKS 102/7 after 17 overs: Khaleel Ahmed picks his second wicket and West Indian Fabian Allen's struggle at the crease ends as the debutant makes just 6 off 11 balls. Sunrisers aim to close well as Punjab needs at least 140 to post a challenging total.

PBKS 98/6 after 16 overs: Rashid Khan finishes his quota of four overs 4-0-17-1 and he has got the prized scalp of Chris Gayle. Top bowler

PBKS 94/6 after 15 overs: Shahrukh Khan is playing some mighty shots as this time he dispatches Siddharth Kaul well over the deep mid-wicket for a maximum. Sunrisers will aim to pick another couple of wickets and not allow Punjab a late flourish.

PBKS 84/6 after 14 overs: WICKET! Abhishek Sharma strikes and he removes Moises Henriques who falls for a 17-ball 14. Henriques puts on the dancing shoes but fails to get to the pitch of the ball as he tries to go inside out and Jonny Bairstow whips the bails in a flash. Shahrukh Khan meanwhile, has flexd his muscle with a maximum over deep square leg.

PBKS 75/5 after 13 overs: Big-hitting batsman Shahrukh Khan is out in the middle but the Tamil Nadu batsman has to curb his natural strokeplay and has to build a partnership with Henriques. Rashid is done with his third, giving nine and SRH will look to close out well.

PBKS 66/5 after 12 overs: WICKET! Abhishek Sharma strikes and he traps Deepak Hooda. Punjab go for the review but the on-field decision stays as Hooda missed the ball after he shuffled across and the ball was just clipping the leg stump.

PBKS 60/4 after 11 overs: Deepak Hooda is on the charge and a fired-up Rashid is having a go at the batsman after Hooda pulls out a reverse sweep to the third man boundary. Need to be careful and not et carried away as Punjab needs a partnership.

PBKS 53/4 after 10 overs: Punjab is in desperate need for a partnership and both Henriques and Hooda have to string a partnership to keep SRH at bay. Having picked a wicket, Rashid will now look to bamboozle the batsmen with his variations.

PBKS 47/4 after 9 overs: Rashid Khan strikes in his very first over and he traps the dangerous Chris Gayle. Rashid gets the ball to beat Gayle's defence and it was hitting off-stump. The West Indian doesn't review it and SRH clearly on top at the moment. Moises Henriques is the new man in.

SRH 45/3 after 8 overs: WICKET! Sunrisers back in the game big time and this time skipper David Warner hits the bulls' eye to catch Nicholas Pooran way short of his crease. Gayle punched Shankar to cover, called for a quick single, Pooran responded but was a very tight one and Warner with a direct hit has brought some smiles in the Orange dugout. SRH had Punjab four down only for Siddarth Kaul messing up a simple catch at fine leg as Deepak Hooda survives.

PBKS 39/2 after 7 overs: Big Wicket as Khaleel AHmed strikes to remove Mayank Agarwal and that's a fantastic catch by Rashid Khan. He dropped a sitter but gets his man as this time Mayank goes for the pull but fails to get the elevation and Rashid gets his hands beneath the ball and takes a good low catch.

PBKS 32/1 after 6 overs: Mayank is really struggling for timing as one occassion he deliberately cuts Bhuvneshwar and the ball flies through the vacant slip cordon for a boundary. That will be the end of PowerPlay.

PBKS 26/1 after 5 overs: Chris Gayle gets off the blocks with a boundary over mid-on and going by the proceedings, application will be the key on a slow Chepauk track. The ball isn't coming on to the bat and batsmen need to wait before committing into the shots.

Siddharth Kaul into the attack

PBKS 19/1 after 4 overs: Bhuvneshwar strikes and he removes the big fish KL Rahul and that's a huge blow for Punjab. KL went for the pull but the slowness of the wicket didn't allow the ball to come on to the bat and the batsman ended up spooning a simple catch to Kedar Jadhav at mid-wicket. Chris Gayle joins Mayank Agarwal.

PBKS 15/0 after 3 overs: First boundary for Mayank Agarwal as Khaleel offers width and Mayank rides on top of the bounce and whacks it over point for a boundary.

Khaleel Ahmed into the attack

PBKS 9/0 after 2 overs: Bhuvneshwar Kumar starts off in a decent fashion and most importantly doesn't concede a boundary as both Mayank and Rahul are off the mark. Important for Sunrisers to get over the drop catch and look for early wickets.

PBKS 3/0 after 1 over: DROPPED! Rashid Khan drops a sitter and hands Mayank Agarwal a life! Excellent start from left-arm spinner Abhishek Sharma and there is just a hint of turn and he almost had Mayank, had not Rashid, who ran towards his left and put in the slide at deep mid-wicket but spilled it. Made it look too hard!

Out come the Punjab openers - KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal on a hot and sunny afternoon in Chennai. Sunrisers will look to get their first points on board and they need to start well. Spin straightaway and it will be Abhishek Sharma with the new ball.

The  Punjab Kings  and the  Sunrisers Hyderabad  are currently in the bottom two places and will try to climb up the  IPL 2021  points table when they meet at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday.

Sunrisers have started with three defeats in a row, ceding the advantage from promising positions in all three chases. They need to solve their middle-order muddle.

David Warner and Jonny Bairstow have been aggressive but there remain question marks over Hyderabad’s batting line-up not least around Manish Pandey, who has failed to close games.

Kane Williamson, if fit, should play. Bairstow donning the keeping gloves could allow Kedar Jadhav to replace Wriddhiman Saha.
