MCA members likely to move court against withdrawal of ODI
MCA members are most likely to file a writ petition in Bombay High Court on Tuesday, against the Board’s decision to allocate the match to the Brabourne Stadium.

A couple of days ago, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) had written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) CEO, Rahul Johri, seeking explanation on why the fourth ODI between India and the Windies was shifted out of Wankhede Stadium.
And now, the MCA and some representatives of the association (its eligible members and two clubs), are now most likely to file a writ petition in Bombay High Court on Tuesday, against the Board’s decision to allocate the match to the Brabourne Stadium.
It has been learnt that the association members have two clear points—firstly, why wasn’t anything conveyed to the MCA by the BCCI officially before changing the venue, and secondly, under the new BCCI constitution, the Cricket Club of India (CCI) is an associate member, and allegedly, still hasn’t complied with the Lodha recommendations. “So, we would like to know how an associate member can be chosen over a full-member association. We were surprised by the way BCCI allotted the match to the CCI,” a source pointed out.
While the MCA looks set to move High Court, the CCI is gearing up for the return of international cricket after 10 long years. With the match set to be held on October 29, the club doesn’t have much time in hand, and it has already started the tender process and plans are on about the distribution of tickets. Highly-placed sources in the CCI have confirmed to this publication that the preparation is on the right track and the things should be ready much before the fourth ODI.
Women's camp in limbo
The CCI was initially supposed to host the India’s national women’s team camp from Tuesday, but now with the facility being ready for the ODI, the venue had to be changed. There is, however, not much clarity over the venue. It was initially learnt that the Wankhede Stadium will host the camp, but now, it is believed that the MCA officials have told the BCCI that ‘it won’t be possible’ for them to host the camp.
