Mukund to coach Meghalaya in Vijay Hazare Trophy
G. Mukund will coach the Meghalaya side for the limited overs tournament in the absence of regular coach Sanath Kumar.

Sanath Kumar, who is presently with the India U-19 team won't be available for Meghalaya during its Vijay Hazare campaign. However, the seasoned coach will be joining the side before the start of Ranji Trophy.
In his absence, G. Mukund will coach the Meghalaya side for the limited overs tournament. A level-II coach, Mukund has been the U-14 coach of Karnataka.
Confirming the development, Meghalaya Cricket Association secretary, Naba Bhattacharjee, told
Sanath Kumar, who is presently in Lucknow for the quadrangular series, will travel to Bangladesh with the India U-19 team for the Asia Cup as well. So, he will only be able to take charge of Meghalaya after the U-19 commitments are over.
“Mukund is taking care of the team at the moment and he is level-II coach. He is a very good and committed coach, and whenever I conduct Level-I coaching, he generally assists me. He is really good,” Sanath said.
The seasoned coach also made it clear that he is regularly in touch with him. “He discusses everything with me on a daily basis and that’s how we have been going about it,” Sanath added.
Jason Lamare, who had earlier played for Assam, will be leading the side in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
