Pakistan hopeful over Amir visa

"I have written a letter to the high commissioner seeking special and sympathetic consideration on Amir's visa," said PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan, "The England and Wales Cricket Board is also assisting and are in touch with their home department, so we hope for a positive response."

Mohammad Amir has been a regular in Pakistan's playing eleven since his return.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hopes Mohammad Amir will be given special dispensation and granted a visa for Pakistan's upcoming tour of England.

Amir was banned from cricket for five years following the spot-fixing scandal in 2010 but returned in 2015 in the Bangladesh Premier League with Chittagong Vikings.

His form earned him a Pakistan recall in January against New Zealand, where he took five wickets in two one-day internationals, and he has been a regular in his nation's Twenty20 side.

Pakistan had hoped to have him in their touring party for their series in England, but it remains to be seen whether Amir will be granted access.

Pakistan's tour of England begins with the first of four Test matches at Lord's on July 14, before five ODIs and a one-off T20.
