Karachi Kings successfully defended a small total of 149/9 after its bowlers managed to restrict Quetta Gladiators to 130/9 in a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match in Dubai.

Colin Ingram top-scored with a 21-ball 41 and the bowlers rose to the occasion to give the Kings a 19-run victory.

Opting to bat, openers Khurram Manzoor (35) and Joe Denly (14) gave the Kings a steady start. But were pegged back with the wickets of Denly and Babar Azam (10). Then it was from the contributions of Ingram and Ravi Bopara (24), Kings reached 149 in 20 overs. The lower middle-order collapsed, with the batsmen failing to reach double-digit score.

For the Gladiators, Watson claimed three wickets while Jofra Archer and Anwar Ali picked two wickets each.

The Gladiators got off to a worse start by losing openers Asad Shafiq (2) and Shane Watson (1) cheaply. The batsmen that followed them couldn't really steady the innings, except for Umar Amin and Mohammad Nawaz with their handy cameos.

Imad, Tymal Mills and Mohammad Irfan picked two wickets apiece as the Kings restricted the Gladiators to 130/9 in 20 overs.
